It's Raining Money Maker Splenda!

I hit up a few Walgreens today and made little money on Splenda!!! Picked up 16 boxes and 9- $3 RR and paid nothing out of pocket.  (In Indiana we pay no tax on food, so my total was literally $0.00 for each transaction.)  I had one store tell me they couldn't adjust a coupon down, despite the coupon policy, but they just adjusted the price of the Splenda up $.01.  Either way it works for me-free is free! She refused to hear what I had to say, but I stood my ground, although I am tempted to print off the coupon policy and go take it to her to show it to her.  But I won't, of course this is the ONLY day I went to Walgreens without my coupon policy in hand...lol.  Either way...Free Splenda! Wait even better Money Maker Splenda!  They paid me $1.50 to take each box out of the store!

  2. so you paid $16 for all the splenda and got 9 $3 RR at the end of the transaction without having to use coupons? Were you able to do this at just 1 store?

  3. Sorry Teri, I just noticed I had a $ sign in front of the 16. But I got 16 boxes, paid $0.00- literally paid nothing a receipt printed that said subtotal $0.

I boxes cost $2.99, use the $3 off coupon from the 4/17 paper and you only have to pay tax (my state does not have tax on food, so I paid no tax)

For every 2 boxes you buy, you get a $3 RR back. So you have to buy them in transactions of 2 at a time. I went to 3 stores to not clear any shelves, but just be sure to do the 2 in different transactions because you can only get 1 register reward per transaction

  5. Just found out about this blog! Why didn't I know sooner?
    I saw this:
    Q $3/1 Splenda (100 count) @ $2.99 A NO-GO!!!

Tonight, my WAGs had already activated tomorrow's new deals. This week the 80 count Splenda was on sale for $2.99 (w/ $3/1 Q = FREE plus RRs). Tomorrow, the 100 count Splenda goes on sale for $2.99 (w/ $3/1 Q = NO-GO!!!) Why? First the manager said that the Q didn't work because the amount of the Q exceeded the amount of the product. Thus, I pulled out the WAGs policy and informed her that it is WAGs policy to lower the amount of the Q to match the price of the product; thus, FREE. The manager proceeded to tell me that it's not their policy. She asked where I got the policy that I had sitting in front of her. I told her, as I pointed to the WAGs policy, from walgreens.com.

Upon further examination, with the help of the lady standing behind me in line, she noticed the Q said "on any one 80 ct./3.8 oz or larger SPLENDA Sweetener Product." Well, the Q worked just fine this past week on the 80 ct. So, what's the problem??? The 100 ct. has to be larger, right? WRONG!!! The 80 ct. has a net weight of 4.8 oz; thus, the Q worked fine!!! FREE!!! But, the 100 ct. has a net weight of 3.5 oz!!! Who would've thought??? Thus, Q DENIED!!!

So, the manager was wrong about WAGs policy and while trying to defend her nonexistent version of WAGs policy, she overlooked the real reason the computer didn' want to accept the Q. That's because the 100 ct. has a lower net weight than that required of the Q (3.8 oz). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!!! I didn't even think to check the weight of the box. Might work!!! Check the net weight!!!

Why do things like that happen?
